About Sea to Sky Air

A fourth-generation Squamish local, Jim McRae’s passion for planes started at a very early age. With an uncle working in forestry camps along B.C.’s rugged coast, as a young child Jim made frequent trips each summer to visit him. Equally as memorable as his visits were with his uncle, were the floatplane trips that Jim took to see him. Little did he know that it was these early visits that would ultimately shape his future.

In 1983, Jim obtained his pilots license and started flying planes based out of Squamish Airport. With an inherent love of the area and the geography of the region, Jim wanted to share his love for flying and for the Sea to Sky corridor with others. In 2004, following his dream, Jim started Sea to Sky Air and has never looked back.

In 2009, Jeff Belisle joined Jim at Sea to Sky Air. Originally from Ontario, Jeff too shares a love for planes and helicopters. 2010 promises to be an exciting year for Sea to Sky Air as the company plans to introduce new planes and helicopters to its fleet, as well as exciting new experiences and scheduled flights.
