Ever wish you had a crystal ball that could tell you what the weather was like before you set off? Well now you do. Enter the wonderful world of Squamish webcams.
The Sea To Sky Corridor is notorious for its fast-changing weather patterns that come off the Pacific and up the Howe Sound. In fact, there is a saying here that “if you don’t like the weather, wait 5 minutes and it will change”. This is not uncommon in coastal mountain landscapes and makes for very interesting trip planning, but beautiful trip photography!
One of the best tips we can give you for keeping on top of the coast mountain weather is to know where all the important webcams are. That way you can get up-to-date, real-time images of what the weather looks like wherever you want to go!
Quick guide to the Squamish webcams
The first three Squamish webcams in our list are owned and maintained by the Canadian Air Navigation Service, who have webcams throughout every province in Canada. You can see them all overlaid on Google Map (see image above) at the Aviation Weather Website.
The last webcam is stationed at the top of the Sea To Sky Gondola and looks out directly over the Squamish Howe Sound.
Here are our top 3 Squamish webcams for flying, hiking, and biking in the Sea To Sky Corridor:
1. Cheakamus Canyon Webcam: North & South East Views
See all angles of the Cheakamus Canyon webcam, here.
2. Squamish Webcam: North & South Views
See all angles of the Squamish webcam, here.
Note: as of March 8th the Squamish webcam north view is obstructed by snow and ice on the camera. But you can still get a great feel for the conditions over Squamish from the other three webcams.
3. Whistler Webcam: South View
See all angles of the Whistler webcam, here.
4. Sea To Sky Gondola Webcam
See the Howe Sound webcam, here.
