The Squamish valley is the result of 250,000,000 year old mountains and volcanism, clashing with prehistoric glaciers

Once you see beyond the boundary of the Sea To Sky Highway you’ll never look at Squamish the same way

This flight is just for you, Sea To Sky Locals. Come out to experience an introduction to the beauty of the Coast Mountains from the air

Between October 11th and October 29th 2023 groups of up to 3 can take an unforgettable 15-minute scenic flight over the lush, diverse, and wild landscape of Squamish on our locals-only tour created for Sea To Sky Corridor residents. All flights are completely private to your group.

For only $55 each (total $165 for the plane) you and two friends will soar over the Howe Sound and coast mountains amongst ancient mountains, plateaus, valleys, lakes, rivers, fjords, and wetlands. You’ll get an uninterrupted view of the Squamish mountains and the Howe Sound fjord, as far south as Gambier Island, the Pacific Ocean and north to Mount Garibaldi, the Black Tusk, and Mt Cayley.

No need to bring locals ID, just book through this page. $165 is the price of a private plane (max 3 people at $55 each). If you wish to fly as just 2 people the price is $82.50 each.

What do pilots sound like?

Our pilots are passionate about British Columbia, Squamish, Whistler, Vancouver and the Sea To Sky Corridor. They love sharing what they know about the region’s legendary geology and history so we outfitted every seat with a two-way headset and microphone. Think of us like your best friend taking you on a road trip to all their favourite places. Listen to your pilot tell stories as you fly, ask questions about features and landmarks, or simply sit back and enjoy the view.

What if the weather changes and we can’t fly?

The local’s deal fills up fast each year, so we highly recommend picking a date with your friends and booking as soon as you can.

Then, if we get to the day of your flight and the weather doesn’t let us fly, no problem. We’ll reschedule your flight to another day and time that works for you, all year round.

Simple, easy and stress-free.

From the Flight

The Howe Sound Fjord

A fjord is an ancient river valley that was widened, straightened and deepened by glacial ice over the millennia. Flowing 42km toward the Pacific Ocean from the mouth of the Squamish River, the Howe Sound is home to whales, seals, sea lions and thousands of marine species. It’s dotted with islands and sits in the traditional territory of the Squamish Nation. It is estimated that annually the Howe Sound watershed provides $800 million to $4.7 billion in ecosystem services contributing to breathable air, drinkable water and protection from natural disasters.

Squamish Coast Mountains

The southern coast mountains and the north cascades contain some of the most perplexing geology in British Columbia. Instead of a few big terranes they are made up of a structural stack of little ones created in the Jurassic and the mid-Cretaceous period. A tectonic plate charging south (instead of north) dragged with it island arcs not related to the North American continent. Eventually the plate and the islands collided with what is now the coast of British Columbia creating the base for the Coast Mountains.

Flying in small planes is an intimate experience. You can feel the air and clouds floating by, hear the gasps of surprise and excitement from your friends or the splashing of water on the floats. It’s the creation of, and presence in, these small moments that deepens connections between each other and nature. You never have to worry about picking a good seat ahead of time. No matter where you are in our planes you're guaranteed to have a first-class experience.
