Squamish Weather: What should you expect & how to pack

Squamish is one of the best places to be in the springtime. In March, April, and May locals and visitors can still enjoy skiing in the alpine, but with the addition of hiking and mountain biking in the valley, and paddle sports in the Howe Sound and surrounding lakes. We practically invented the term “multi-sport” days.

It’s Squamish’s diverse landscape that makes it a haven of outdoor adventure and one of the most awe-inspiring places to fly, anywhere in British Columbia.

Squamish weather information by month

Like the fall, Squamish weather can be a mixed bag in the spring. However, if you ask the region’s local pro photographers such as Dan Carr, they’ll tell you that’s far from a bad thing. In fact, on Dan’s most recent photography flight with us, he actually rescheduled to a day with clouds so that “the sky would be more interesting”.

No matter what Squamish attraction you’re looking forward to in the spring, expect Squamish weather to be warm, wet, dry, sunny, and cloudy. There’s a saying in this region that “if you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes and it will change”.

But don’t worry, we’re not going to just leave you hanging in a world of confusing, five-minute weather. Below is a historical chart of what to expect, plus a list of things to pack specifically for Squamish weather in the spring.
