The Sea To Sky’s mountainous region was formed during the last ice age. A time when active volcanoes erupted into the vast icefields that once dominated the landscape.

On the Whistler Backcountry Air Safari you will fly deep into Garibaldi Provincial Park, to the boundary layer between ancient glacial flows and volcanism. It’s here where mountains were forged, among fire and ice, as far back as 230 million years ago.

This is our most popular experience and our guest’s top choice for the best Whistler backcountry attractions. Photographers, hikers, walkers, and geologists will be equally amazed as we fly shoulder to shoulder with iconic landmarks including Garibaldi Lake and Black Tusk. Do not forget your camera!

Sightseeing by plane is one of the most extraordinary things to do in Whistler. Your flight will take off from the Squamish Airport and fly deep into the Whistler backcountry. This tour is an ideal way to kick off your trip to Whistler.

  • View while sightseeing over squamish with Sea To Sky Air
Right at Squamish’s doorstep is the beginnings of the Garibaldi sub-range of mountains. The namesake of this mountain range, and the provincial park in which it sits, Mount Garibaldi is the striking diamond shaped peak visible from almost anywhere in Squamish. But, perhaps, the most famous mountain of all in this region is Black Tusk – a black pyroclastic cinder cone of fossilized magma steeped in First Nation’s history and folklore.

The Barrier, Sphinx glacier, Tabletop, and Opal Cone are more of the highlights on this tour of glaciers, extinct volcanoes, and unique geological formations you will not find in any other part of the world.

Once you’re in the air you’ll see why our guests have described this experience as nothing less than extraordinary.
