Learn the fundamentals of seaplane aviation in a detailed ground briefing

Get in the driver’s seat and take to the skies in our amphibious seaplane to practice the basic manoeuvres of flight with guidance from your pilot. On this flight you will also experience a water takeoff and landing

Bring extra friends: share the flying experience with two available seats.

Expand your horizons on our 80 minute long Seaplane Introduction to Flight Experience in our amphibious seaplane. Under the watchful eye of our commercial pilots, you’ll learn the foundations of good aviation and practice the essential manoeuvres of flight from the exhilarating position of the co-pilot’s seat.

As many of our guests will tell you, this is the perfect opportunity to tick learning how to fly a plane off your bucket list; and what better place to do it than amongst the spectacular coast mountains.

Rain, shine, or snow, this awesome flying experience runs all-year-round and only requires one participant. All other sightseeing flights require two participants as a minimum.

Why Choose to Experience flight in our amphibious seaplane

In this experience, you will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of flight highlighting the unique differences of taking off and landing on water. On your flight, you will make a landing and a take off from the water. During your time on the water you will have the opportunity to steer the seaplane around the pristine waters of British Columbia.

Share The Experience, $95

Our amphibious seaplane has four seats. One for you, one for our pilot, and up to two in the back.

Our Share The Experience option allows you to bring along friends to fill these seats at a reduced rate of $95 each. Perfect if you’re buying the Introduction To Flight Experience as a gift for a birthday or special occasion. You get to come along, too. It’s a win win.

From the Flight

The Ground Breifing

Before taking to the skies there are a few fundamentals that any want-to-be pilot needs to know including: the theory of lift, visual flight rules, how flaps help generate lift at slower speeds, how to read and understand the cockpit instrumentation, and what on Earth ailerons are! By the end of the briefing, you'll know all you need to know to fly a plane.

The Flight!

Once you’re in the air, this will be your chance to put all the expertly shared knowledge you learned from our pilots into action in the skies above Squamish, and then in the waters surrounding the Coast Mountains! There is no set route on this flight, so you will get the opportunity to carve your own journey under the watchful guide of your pilot.

Our Amphibious Seaplane

Flying in small planes is an intimate experience. You can feel the air and clouds floating by, hear the gasps of surprise and excitement from your friends and the splashing of water on the floats. It’s the creation of, and presence in, these small moments that deepens connections between each other and nature. You never have to worry about picking a good seat ahead of time. No matter where you are in our planes you're guaranteed to have a first-class experience.
